چکیده

The Cenozoic Malaguide Basin from Sierra Espuña (Internal Betic Zone, S Spain) due to the quality of outcropping, areal representation, and continuity in sedimentation can be considered a key-basin. In last 30 years, large number studies with very different methodological approaches have been done area. Models indicate an evolution passive margin wedge-top basin Late Cretaceous Early Miocene. Intracellular and dissolved microcystin in reservoirs of the river Segura basin, Murcia, SE Spain.

The seasonal sampling of irrigation or drinking water reservoirs in the province of Murcia (SE Spain) in the hydrological year 2000-2001 revealed the presence of intracellular microcystins in the benthic cyanophyte communities throughout the year. The total microcystin levels, as measured by HPLC, were relatively high but lower than others published for planktonic communities of the European co...

Drilling Predation on Serpulid Polychaetes (Ditrupa arietina) from the Pliocene of the Cope Basin, Murcia Region, Southeastern Spain

We report quantitative analyses of drilling predation on the free-living, tube-dwelling serpulid polychaete Ditrupa arietina from the Cope Cabo marine succession (Pliocene, Spain). Tubes of D. arietina are abundant in the sampled units: 9 bulk samples from 5 horizons yielded ~5925 specimens of D. arietina. Except for fragmentation, tubes were well preserved. Complete specimens ranged from 3.1 t...

Engineering geological characterization of Neogene marls in the Southeastern Granada Basin, Spain

Analysis of 171 samples taken from the Neogene cohesive soils of the Southeastern edge of the Granada basin shows inverse correlation between carbonate content and dispersion index and swelling behaviour and direct correlations between carbonate content and shear strength. This paper shows that carbonate content and clay fraction activity have a great influence on the compaction characteristics...
